Who Did Islam Liberate?

Islam came and liberated our children and women…

In pre-islamic Arabia, the right of life was frequently denied to female children. The right to know the identity of the father was also neglected, and tribalism was the main value in society.

In the Roman civilisation, if a child was born sick or disabled, it was killed. If it was born healthy, the child would be placed at the feet of the ‘pater familias’ (father who had strict patriarchal authority). If he decided to keep the child, he would raise him up with his own hands, and if he didn’t, he would abandon the child and leave it to die, or someone would pick it up from the dumps and take it in as a slave.

And then came Islam.

We are all going through tests at every step of our lives, each and every one of us, at each and every moment. You see, some are tests of patience and some are tests of gratefulness and at times, some are even a mixture of both.

Being patient and being grateful at the same time is hands down the ultimate test. And yet somehow, one makes the other easier to handle.

When we realize how blessed we are, this increases us in gratefulness, and patience becomes all the easier. And one of the fruits of patience is the realisation of our countless blessings…

Indeed Allah never burdens a soul with more than they can bear.

I know a reality. It states that my time in this world is limited to only a few years.

I have an understanding. It teaches me to be appreciative and supportive of my fellow propagators of Islam, the wonderful organizations and institutes and all the amazing speech and action the world witnesses that is dedicated towards making my vision a reality…

You see, the legacy of my beloved Messenger (Sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) was not transferred to any one man or women, but transferred to an entire ummah (nation).
