Death, the inevitable
Do schools kill creativity?
‘Either or’ or ‘Either and?’
A Beautiful Reminder from Imam Ibn AlQayyim (r)
Seerah: Loving the companions of the Messenger (salallahu alayhi wasallam)
Do you get defensive?
Allah Almighty in Surah Najm teaches the idolators that the Messenger (SAW), who they deny and fight, is actually their (Saahib), which refers to him being a companion and someone from them and a person they actually know!
From this revelation and reminder we as a people today can develop ourselves by learning how to give others the benefit of the doubt in the least, and not hold our fellow brother or sister in contempt, or take immedite offense to something they may have said or written.
Unfortunmately today we see a growing trend of raising our opposition without due diligence whilst forgetting that the person, who may have said or written something, is actually OUR COMPANION…Subhanallah.
So the next time you feel provoked without concrete evidence, take a deep breath and consider first who the person in question is in your life, and then plan your next approach accordingly.
Never ever allow yourself to become another tool for shaitaan, may Allah Almighty protect us all. Ameen.
May Allah Almighty grant us the understanding. Ameen.

Live your life preparing for your death
Assalamualaikum brothers and sisters. I pray you all well.
You know, between Thursday and this Sunday someone known to me has passed away- Subhanallah.
To put it candidly; the angel of death is busy, may Allah shower His mercy upon us- Ameen.
My dear brothers and sisters, if we never realised, let us us realise now- that we need to start preparing for our death. That start begins with developing the realization and remembering every single day that we may not see the next sunrise or sunset…
I am not trying to scare any of my beloved readers. But just saying it as it is for no one was ever created to remain in this life forever.
The most beloved to Allah Almighty, our Messenger (SAW) passed away and we all will pass away too.
May Allah Almighty forgive our past, and inspire whatever remains of our future, and may He only decree death upon us when He is pleased with us and paradise is our only abode. Ameen.
Rememeber me in your dua brothers and sisters.
I love you for the sake of Allah.
Your brother,

Seerah: Why it is important to have ‘cave time’
Assalaamu alaykum brothers and sisters. I pray you all well.
In the realm of nurture and development we tend to hear voices that describe human beings as products of nature (DNA) with other voices stating that we are products of nurture (environment).
You can already guess these voices belonging to the philosophers and scientistis.
However, when we study the seerah, we actually come to learn that we has human beings may be affected by our nurture and our nature, but ultimately- we can and should be products of our ‘fitrah’ – the natural disposition that Allah Almighty created us upon.
The Qur’an and Sunnah are both rich in teaching us of the guidance that Allah Almighty created us upon. Yes, every human has been created with the knowledge that our Lord in no other than Allah Almighty.
So in essence Allah has blessed us with a continuous inner voice that calls us, and our hearts, and our souls towards guidance- Alhamdulillah.
However what we find, my dear brothers and sisters, is that we live in moments whereby the loudness of misguidance around us and the echoes of our daily monotonous lives are so loud; that they together block out the pure calling of our inner voice.
Our inability to respond to the call of our inner voice then causes us to become a victim of time and part and parcel of a life void of purpose and attachment to that considered more substantial…
Dear reader, our messenger was born into a system of misguidance. He grew up amidst a people that worshipped idols and lived immoral lives, and yet we find him beating his environment, with the mercy of Allah Almighty, and remaining upon the instruction of his natural disposition.
Not once do we ever come across him indulging in misguidance before becoming a messenger, in fact he was revered by the very same misguided nation that he was sent to as an honest and trustworthy person.
Dear reader- it is incumbant you take out a day or two in your week and month to connect with you natural disposition. You have to shut out the ‘noise’ of life and start hearing your inner voice of guidance regularly. It is critical for your safe and successful survival.
Our messenger (SAW) used to leave the noise of misgudance around him and visit a cave often. It was in this cave that he could ponder and reflect without distraction and it was in a cave that guidance was revealed upon him…
We do not need physical caves today! We just need to switch off from the world every now and then and listen to ourselves. We owe it to ourselves!
I love you for the sake of Allah.
your brother,
Sajid Umar
You are not the judge, Allah is…
Never judge a person based on their past; never hold them accountable for something they did ten years ago.. you don’t know if Allah has already forgiven them for the sins you are holding them accountable for.
Live and let people live as well.
