A pertinent message I received today, along with the attached picture….

These sheets of cloths are shrouds (Kafan) that people used to bring to Makkah to wash with Zamzam, and then leave it to dry in the sun.
It’s seldom practised today, but we’ve heard many stories of how back in time people used to acquire their own
shroud/kafan,
store it in a particular place and emphasize it often to their family!
It’s a reminder that we all have to live our best, prepare for a time when we will no longer be here, and hope to achieve a Husn al-Khatima –
a good end at the time of death. Ameen.

Assalamualaikum, some of you have asked for the full video 📹 of the rendition in my Instagram stories. I have thus attached it here for you to download and share.
The presenter makes a dua at the end, asking Allah to grant everyone who shares the video a grave which is a garden from the gardens of Jannah.
He further encourages everyone to worship Allah where it counts, for once you are in the grave, you will wish for the chance to say one (Subhanallah)…
Also, the translation of the aayaat he recites is as follows:
“until, when death comes to one of them, he says, “My Lord, send me back
That I might do righteousness in that which I left behind.” No! It is only a word he is saying; and behind them is a barrier until the Day they are resurrected.”
Surah alMu’minoon, aayah 99-100.

Abdullah ibn Amr reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “If the treasures of Persia and Rome were opened for you, what kind of people will you be?”
Abdur Rahman ibn Awf said, “We will be as Allah has ordered us.”
The Prophet said, “Perhaps you will be something else. You will compete with each other, then envy each other, then turn away from each other, then hate each other, and so on. Then you will go to the poor emigrants and make some of them masters over others.” (Saheeh Muslim).
Ibn Rajab reported: When the treasures of Khosrau were opened for Umar ibn Al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, he wept and he said, “Verily, the likes of this were never opened for people except that Allah made it a cause of discord between them.” (Kashf alKurbah 1/5)

Winter has arrived in Riyadh alhamdulillah!
In terms of our attitude with the winter;’ the Prophet (pbuh) said: “Winter is the best season for the believer. Its nights are long for him to pray in, and its days are short for him to fast in.” And Umar (RA) said: “Winter is the prize of the worshippers.” Ibn Rajab al-Hambali said in his book ‘Lata’if al-Ma’arif’: “Winter is the best season for the believer because…Allah strengthens his practice in it by making worship easy for him.
