It was just after the year of sorrow. The year in which our messenger of Allah ﷺ was struck with one of the greatest calamities. The loss of his beloved wife, loyal friend, companion and supporter – Khadija رضي الله عنها as well as his dear, noble and honoured uncle Abu Taalib. He was a human, and so he felt the pain of these losses, both the sorrow and the grief. Tears fell down his face, as he reminisced those beautiful moments he spent with the one who held his hand from the beginning of Prophethood, till she departed from this world. Tears also fell for his uncle, who had died without embracing the religion of Ibrahim (AS), even though his love for his nephew, the Messenger ﷺ, was loyal and faithful.

I love the messenger Muhammad ﷺ because…
Each Muslim identifies differently with the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. Young, old, rich, poor, powerful, crippled, whatever you may be – this man and his life speak to everyone.
I see in my Prophet ﷺ a spiritual man who was revolutionary then and now. A man who spoke out against the ills of society even when persecuted for it. A man who implored people to look beyond race, status and wealth and to instead truly connect with each other as souls. A man who loved and lost and showed us how to rise above difficult times. A man who loved his friends and enemies alike and even prayed for those who chased him away with stones and insults. The man who set the benchmark for what we all aspire to be as believers, human beings, spouses, siblings, friends, and neighbours.
Why else would millions of hearts twist in pain each time someone draws a few silly lines?
