An advice on the Importance and rank that a believer should afford this great Guest – Ramadan, in their lives. Fasting is a pillar from the Pillars of Allah and a blessing upon the Ummah of Muhammad (saw).
And an advice shared, that we should substitute the World Cup for Ramadan, if we truly want to be of the successful.
An Abandoned Companion
This was a talk presented at Muntadah al-Islaami in London – UK, 2013.
This talk is based upon a verse in the Quran in Surah Al-Furqaan “The Messenger said, ‘O my Lord, my people have taken this Quran as something mahjoor (abandoned, or to be avoided).” And thus Sheikh Sajid explains the importance of protecting ourselves from ever falling into this category by discussing the status and honour that we should afford the Book of Allah in our lives. Sheikh Sajid, encourages us to be people that ponder and deliberate and reflect over the ayaat in the Quran and to be consistent with it, and we emulate our Messenger (saw) such that our character becomes Al-Quran.
The Three ‘I’s: Ikhlaas, Ihsaan and Istiqaamah

In this talk, Sheikh Sajid speaks about “The 3 i’s” – Ikhlaas, Ihsaan and Istiqaamah.
Sheikh reminds us that everything we do is for Allah Almighty and that excellence in all that we do is a minimum requirement. He also highlights the importance of inculcating these “3 i’s” into our lives, for if we do then we would live a life of substance, inShaAllah!
Lessons from Surah Yusuf
This was a talk presented by Sheikh Sajid Umar in Melbourne, Australia, December 2013.
In this talk, Sheikh Sajid speaks on the lessons from the best of all narrations – Surah Yusuf.
From the lessons highlighted are; Parenthood and being the best parent, deriving lessons from the wise man and Prophet of Allah, Ya’qoob(as). As parents we are tasked with nurturing the nature of the ummah of today and tomorrow, and thus this reminder is greatly beneficial.
Another lesson is maintaining the bonds of kinship and being exemplary with one another.
Sheikh Sajid concluded the talk with the lesson of Forgiveness, the forgiveness displayed between Ya’qoob (as) and his sons and between Yusuf (as) and his brothers, reminding us to forgive one another as many times as we would love Allah Almighty to forgive us.
The best story narrated to us in the Qur’an. May Allah allow us to extract all the gems from this Surah for as long as we live and continue to teach us how to be Muslims through this Surah.

The Most Merciful
This was the Jumuah talk delivered at the Aston University during the UK University Lecture Tour during November 2013.
Sheikh Sajid reminds us of the countless blessings afforded upon a believer and motivates us to never lose hope in Allah Almighty, the Most Forgiving, the Most Merciful.
He advises that we should always be grateful servants, slaves of Allah that acknowledge these blessings and give thanks to Allah.
He also stresses the importance of seeking forgiveness from Allah and reminds us that for as long as we are breathing, there is always a chance to redeem ourselves with Allah Almighty.
