Assalaamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakaatuh everyone.

Yesterday around 70 countries observed an hour known as EARTH HOUR. During this hour, participating countries or representatives of countries switched off their switches and engaged in what was called a ‘black-out’ hour.

This type of awareness creation coupled with action was pleasing to see, especially since our environments and resources do have a right upon us and we as a people have become wasteful in many ways.

I have said it before and I will say it again. If we were only to switch off the taps whilst washing our faces and whilst wiping over our heads and ears and between washing our feet during wudhu- we as a people would save hundreds of thousands of gallons of water daily.

May Allah Almighty make us aware and responsible.
