Assalamualaikum everyone.
Just read the alJazeera article in the news regarding sister Farkhunda Malikzada who was beaten and burnt only because she spoke out against amulets.
The article actually says that she went up to a man selling amulets to advise him against it, and in turn, he angered people against her by telling them she was burning the Qur’an.
Allahul Musta’aan (Allah Almighty is enought for us).
What a brave Muslim female she was, fearing Allah Almighty and not the people. What this man did against her was oppressive, criminal and a disgrace to humanity and most definitely not islamic. Infact, what he did has no religion… for oppression and extremism have no religion whatsoever.
Every Muslim reading this article will no doubt feel hurt by this practice for several reasons, especially since a precious life was lost.
This evil was an act done by a person who belongs to a group of those who call themselves Muslims but fail to practice Islam according to its true teachings.
In any case, we balance our hurt with the pride we take from the efforts of our brave sister. All Muslim females must take inspiration from this. As muslims, we are all ambassadors to Islam and each and everyone of us, both male and female, have a role to play. In fact, each and everyone of us are a solution towards honour being returned to this ummah. And honour – all of honour – is in following Islam as it was revealed to our beloved Messengerﷺ.
May Allah Almighty forgive our sister and grant her the promised prize. And may Allah Almighty guide the oppressors and those who endeavour to sew corruption on earth. Ameen.
