Ar-Rahmaan is the entirely Merciful, the One whose Mercy is limitless, all-encompassing and not restricted. Meaning, that Allah (swt) shows Mercy to all, regardless of their religion, beliefs, background, colour, gender etc. He not only showers this Mercy upon humans, but also the animals, plants and all of His creation.
Ever stopped to reflect at how the disbeliever still eats, drinks, laughs and smiles even though he is one who sets up partners with Allah?
Ever thought about those who disobey Allah in the day and all through the night, yet He still gives them a chance to live and to breath?
Ever contemplated over the fact that although we sin and disobey Him, He continues to give, He continues to provide, He continues to assist and He continues to nourish?
This is Ar-Rahmaan. The One who is not discriminatory in His Mercy. You may disobey Him, but He will still continue to care of you, for you are His Slave and He is the Most Merciful.
We are all recipients of the Mercy of Allah. From the plants that grow in our gardens, to the ants that scurry under the rocks, to the birds the fly through the air, to the sick and the old, the healthy and the young. Everyone of us is under the shade of His Mercy.
Allah says: “And out of His mercy He made for you the night and the day that you may rest therein and [by day] seek from His bounty and [that] perhaps you will be grateful,” (Qur’an, 28:73).
