We are all going through tests at every step of our lives, each and every one of us, at each and every moment. You see, some are tests of patience and some are tests of gratefulness and at times, some are even a mixture of both.
Being patient and being grateful at the same time is hands down the ultimate test. And yet somehow, one makes the other easier to handle.
When we realize how blessed we are, this increases us in gratefulness, and patience becomes all the easier. And one of the fruits of patience is the realisation of our countless blessings…
Indeed Allah never burdens a soul with more than they can bear.
Allah knows you can handle this, Allah knows you will get through this, and Allah is paving your path towards Jannah with each test that comes your way.
So rejoice O patient one, rejoice O grateful one! Indeed your reward is near.
Say (O Muhammad SAW): “O My slaves who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism), be afraid of your Lord (Allah) and keep your duty to Him. Good is (the reward) for those who do good in this world, and Allah’s earth is spacious (so if you cannot worship Allah at a place, then go to another)! Only those who are patient shall receive their rewards in full, without reckoning.” (Qur’an, 39:10)
… And whoever desires a reward in (this) world, We shall give him of it; and whoever desires a reward in the Hereafter, We shall give him thereof. And We shall reward the grateful. (Qur’an, 3:144)
Glad tidings to those who are tested…
Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) said: “If Allah wants to do good to somebody, He afflicts him with trials.” [Bukhari]
Do people think that they will be left alone because they say: “We believe,” and will not be tested.
And We indeed tested those who were before them. And Allah will certainly make (it) known (the truth of) those who are true, and will certainly make (it) known (the falsehood of) those who are liars, (although Allah knows all that before putting them to test).
[Qur’an, Surah Al-Ankaboot, Verses 2-3]
