-Justice and Being Justly Balanced
From Abu Hurairah (radiyallaahu ‘anhu) who said that Allah’s Messenger (salallaahu ‘alaihi wa’sallam) said:
Love the one whom you love to a certain degree (moderately), perhaps one day he will be someone for whom you have hatred, and hate the one for whom you have hatred to a certain degree (moderately), perhaps one day he will be one whom you love.
[Reported by at-Tirmidhee (no. 1997) and others narrators of Hadeeth].
Lesson:
The feeling of love and hate is from human nature and this narration teaches us that a Muslim should always strive and never let human nature get the better of him/her and must be justly balanced with all our feelings. Our ability to be balanced is one of the signs of our faith and our treading of the ‘middle way’.
Allah Almighty says in His book regarding the ‘middle way’ and being balanced:
“Thus we have made you a justly balanced nation, that you be witnesses over mankind and the Messenger (Muhammad (salallaahu ‘alaihi wa’sallam) be a witness over you.”[Surah al-Baqarah 2: 143]
In life Shaitan perserveres in causing us to drown in love and hate until we begin disobeying Allah with speech and actions that stem from this excessiveness. May Allah protect us all.
I have come across people who stop going to the masjid because they will glimpse someone there who they cannot stand… This is indeed excessive…
Going to the masjid entails going to the house of Allah for the sake of Allah!
I have come across people who refuse to give the salaam or respond to it, even though responding to a given salaam is compulsory and waajib.
I have come across sisters who begin hating their husbands and seek seperation only because he did something permissible in taking a 2nd spouse without being unfair in terms of the rights that he is commanded to maintain. (This is not a discussion on polygany – so please do not lose focus of the discussion and misuse this post 😰 )
There so many examples to share wallahi and the point is being justly balanced is not an easy matter, and we need to understand how beloved maintaining our emotions is to Allah Almighty.
Maintaining emotions for Allah Almighty’s sake is a Jannah building excercise.
Go on and build Jannah…
This is today’s short post and I request you to ponder pver it and benchmark your life against it. May Allah make us better- Ameen.
I love you for the sake of Allah.
Please share the message.
Your brother,
Sajid Umar
