Assalamualaikum everyone. Today I would like to introduce you to brother Mohammed Ashour. An amazing asset to the ummah and someone for whom I pray enters the highest paradise for taking his identity as a Muslim to where the identity of every Muslim should be! May Allah bless him! Ameen.
(Please read till the end)
You know, brothers & sisters; for those who really listen to my ‘messaging service’ in my lectures both onsite and online, and not just my voice & accent; you would notice the action mandate present in them.
Knowledge was never meant to be an ‘end’ in and of itself; the objective of knowledge was always for it to be implemented (put into practice – action).
After all, this is and has always been the basis of transformation! And transformation is the reality of the knowledge of the Qur’an and Sunnah.
In many a seminar and workshop, I have asked the following questions:
“If the Muslims were to disappear today; what would the world miss?
Are we living for the sake of Allah?
Are we inventing for the sake of Allah?
Are we innovating for the sake of Allah?
Do we see the world for what it is, or actually think and understand what it could be, for the sake of Allah?
Are we representing Islam in all the phenomenal spheres of opportunity the world is blessed to have today?
And when I say represent, I really mean represent- In that we act as practicing Muslims and speak like believers in our representations, and showcase that Islam is indeed an entire way of life.
I refer you to a little piece of writing I shared with a group of teenagers, titled: ‘I have a dream!’ Read it to your children please…

In all my travels, I have been blessed to meet exemplary youth with fine belief & character. Their acquaintance is the coolness of my eyes and sweetness of my heart. They have so much potential to become #game_changers, but they just lack the recipe of quantum progress, which is;
1. Understanding the ‘why’ behind the activity they intend, and by this I mean having a vision, because everything we do is a means to an end; the vision being that end.
2. Focus, because in the words of my father: “One full cup of water will always be more complete than three half cups!”
3. Drive, because this ingredient separates good from great, and great from greatest, and success cannot be at the top of the mountain, but at the very edge of the top of the mountain!
In this short column today, I would like to introduce you to someone who represents Islam in his sphere, and has taken the name ‘Mohammed’ to circles never thought of, especially in light of modern day trends.
He epitomises the concept of having a ‘vision’, being ‘focussed’, and being filled with sincere ‘drive’.
His achievements have been recognised on some of the most internationally recognised platforms as well, maShaAllah!
You can read about him and his initiative here and become inspired, inShaAllah.

I have never been fortunate to meet or speak to our brother. However I believe he has brought some understanding to what the world will miss without Islam, and will be someone who the world will miss, when his time to return to Allah Almighty arrives. Because of this, I share today’s column.
May Allah Almighty bless our brother, preserve him in his obedience, grant him steadfastness and make him a means of inspiring the ummah to greater heights. Ameen.
Your brother,
Sajid Umar
