In the age of the ‘knowledge explosion’ we experience today; we clearly witness the presence of two extremes, especially in the area of ‘thought’.
We witness the extreme of those who polarize and spread bigotry due to their inability to comprehend differences of opinion of a scholarly nature…
And we see another extreme that claims everything to be OK and correct and best left without further clarification because of the presence of scholarly difference of opinion.
The middle way is the way based upon the understanding that something cannot be right and wrong at the same time, all the time. And the best way is to clarify the truth based upon evidence without disregarding the opposing view in an inappropriate manner especially when that view is based upon plausible scholarship.
My disagreement with another person or the voicing of my concerns do not necessarily entail disrespect and the presence of different views does not entail the truth being so many things at the same time.
May Allah protect us from bad character, and protect us from the ‘kumbaya methodology’ 😅
Ameen

Sajid Umar
