​The majority of scholars that have researched this topic have stated that the use of botox or any similar procedure is impermissible ​unless the procedure aims at removing a defect and returns an abnormal situation and circumstance to a normal one.

​Based on this; the usage of botox or any other similar procedure would not be permissible for the purpose of ‘becoming more beautiful’ as some state, or for the purpose of changing your natural beauty for the sake of resembling the looks and features of another human being that is found to be attractive.

​The above citations of our scholars are based on the fact that it is forbidden to change the creation of Allah Almighty. However, the removal of a defect or abnormal situation does not constitute ‘changing the creation’ of Allah Almighty; but rather the returning of a situation and circumstance to the norm that Allah Almighty creates us upon.​

​This explanation is deduced from the following authentic narration:

​‘Urfujah ibn As‘ad (may Allah be pleased with him) said: My nose was cut off on the day of (the battle of) al-Kulaab during the Jaahiliyyah​ (period of ignorance)​, so I had a nose made of silver, but it began to ​have a bad odour, so the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) told me to get a nose made ​from gold.​’​ ​​Our scholars explain this narration stating that despite gold being forbidden for males in our shariah; a concession was made regarding its usage due to necessity and for the sake of reducing the effect of an abnormal circumstance.
