Summary

A compassionate message offering Islamic guidance, comfort and practical advice for those facing Covid nineteen, reminding believers of hope, patience and reliance on Allah while encouraging responsible behaviour and spiritual resilience.

Subhanallah, many dear people to me are currently struggling with COVID-19.

It is said that one in thirty people in London now has it. Allahul Mustaaan.

May Allah grant every affected person a full and swift cure and restore complete strength to their bodies. May Allah protect those who have not been touched by it from ever contracting it, and may He shower mercy on all who have passed away. Ameen.

Here are a few thoughts for anyone who has tested positive:

1. For a believer, contracting Covid nineteen is not a punishment, inshaAllah. Rather, it can be a means of having sins forgiven, ranks raised, and an opportunity to gain more reward in Jannah.

2. At times, Allah wishes to grant His servant a place in Jannah that the servant cannot reach through simple daily effort. So Allah tests His servant and grants patience to endure the trial. Through that patience, the believer reaches a station in the next life that he or she never imagined.

3. If you are affected, distance yourself from negative messages. Encourage yourself to maintain good thoughts about Allah. Always remember that Allah Almighty is gentle with His servants. Good expectations of Allah strengthen the heart and even support the healing process.

4. Dua is the essence of worship. No one answers the call of the distressed except Allah. So turn to Him. Ask for a cure. Ask for all your needs in this life and the next. Make dua for the Ummah of Muhammad, peace be upon him.

5. Spend time with the Qur’an. Read it. Listen to it. Try to understand what Allah Almighty is saying by using a reliable translation, then reflect on the meanings you encounter.

6. Use the Qur’an as medicine by reciting Surah al Fatiha three or five, or seven times, then blowing into your palms and wiping over as much of your body as you can. Do the same with Ayat al Kursi. Also recite Surah al Ikhlas, al Falaq and an Naas three times each, following the same practice.

7. Keep your tongue active with istighfaar. Seeking forgiveness is a form of remembrance of Allah Almighty and a means of gaining relief and a cure.

8. Take the necessary means of healing. There is no shame in resting. Your body needs strength, so do not skip nutritious meals. Chew good-quality black seeds rather than swallowing them whole. If that is difficult, use good-quality organic extra virgin cold-pressed black seed oil tablets. Drink honey in Zamzam water if you can, and benefit from simple home remedies with turmeric, lemons and garlic. Also, remember the benefits of vitamin C and vitamin D.

A final reminder for everyone: please follow the rules. Be sensible with your actions and the messages you share. Do not ignore or break social distancing guidelines. You might hide this from the authorities or your neighbours, but you cannot hide it from Allah. Remember that we are servants of Allah Almighty before we are servants of desire.

I love you all for the sake of Allah, and I ask Him to gather us again in good health and strong faith soon. Ameen.
