True Legacy Is Built on Gratitude, Not Accumulation
Building a legacy takes time, patience, and sustained effort. It is not achieved overnight, nor is it preserved without sacrifice.
Yet, some people fail to appreciate this reality.
One of the greatest legacies you can leave behind, especially in this age, is becoming a champion of gratitude: someone who consciously recognises the people behind the surplus of wealth, opportunity, and time that they enjoy.
Whenever you possess more than someone else, you must never forget the shoulders upon which you stand, the individuals whose efforts, labour, and unseen sacrifices formed the very foundation of your surplus.
One of the most powerful ways to preserve this awareness is through excellence in Zakāh, both in its accurate calculation and its thoughtful distribution.
Zakāh trains the believer to build a legacy that is rooted not in self-congratulation but in humility, remembrance, and responsibility. It teaches us to never forget the people whom Allah used as a means for our success.
May Allah bless your intentions, purify your wealth, and grant your efforts lasting barakah. Āmīn.
